Omega expands women’s collections
FEMALE watch aficionados will be pleased to note that Omega has introduced a plethora of ladies’ timepieces this year. In particular, the brand has revamped the De Ville Prestige and unveiled the third generation of watches for this line, with three of the six new models meant for women.
The feminine models clock in at 34 millimetres, 30 millimetres, and 27.5 millimetres across respectively. Like previous generations of the De Ville Prestige, the new timepieces feature domed dials with similarly contoured cases and crystals to create watches that closely hug the wrist. What’s new this time are the slimmed-down cases with more prominent curves to further accentuate their slender design. The sheer range of case material, dial, gem-setting, as well as strap/bracelet options on offer are another highlight. These variations don’t just create a bewildering range of aesthetic options, but also ensure that there is something suitable for a wearer – whatever her preferences may be.
The De Ville Tresor collection has been expanded too, with Omega adding a new line of 26-millimetre De Ville Mini Tresor timepieces. Two of the new references feature bracelets with silk-like finishes rendered in Moonshine Gold – Omega’s proprietary gold alloy – to match their cases. Meanwhile, the rest of these timepieces have been fitted with Toile de Jouy straps bearing blue, black, or red patterns that reference different aspects of Omega’s watchmaking. Here, “single tour” straps have been fitted to cases in Moonshine Gold, while “double tour” straps that circle the wrist twice come matched with timepieces cased in stainless steel.
Alongside these major releases, Omega has also extended several existing collections with new references. The Constellation, for instance, has been variously bolstered with new versions sporting aventurine dials and pastel-coloured sunbrushed dials. In the same vein, the 34-millimetre edition of the Seamaster Aqua Terra also welcomes new colourways ranging from shell pink to lavender. The overall effect is clear: Omega’s offerings for women are more varied than ever before.
