Patek Philippe welcomes CNY with vibrant hues and precious metals
Dress up for the festive season with watches that stand out
CHINESE NEW YEAR IS A time to celebrate with all things bright and colourful. Patek Philippe ensures you’re dressed appropriately for the Year of the Snake with watches in brilliant hues and shiny precious metals that are bound to bring joy and good fortune.
Ref 5821/AR-001 Cubitus
It has a long waiting list, it’s brand new and it’s the star of an entirely new collection that didn’t exist until now. What’s not to like?
The Cubitus is destined to be the next Nautilus or Aquanaut, Patek Philippe’s insanely popular models. In fact, the new model, instantly recognised by its square case, is a reinterpretation of the “elegant sporty” style that defines the Nautilus and Aquanaut.
A bezel that blends square, circle and octagonal shapes sits atop the Cubitus case, which stands out for its two attachments. While rather large by Patek Philippe’s standards, the 45 mm case sports a slender profile that boasts timeless refinement. Contrasting “vertical satin-brushed” and polished finishes further enhance the case’s bold geometric design.
The dial is further accentuated with horizontal relief embossing, which extends to the roots and mini-rotors of the movement.
The Cubitus comes in three versions. One is a technical model in platinum, showcasing a large-format date display, moon phase and the day of the week – all changing instantaneously. The watch is powered by a new in-house automatic movement with six patents pending.
The remaining two models feature the time only – one in full stainless steel, bracelet included, and an olive green sunburst dial; the other with a stainless steel and rose gold case and bracelet, as well as a blue sunburst dial. Both timepieces run on an in-house self-winding movement that first appeared in 2019.

Ref 5236P-010 In-Line Perpetual Calendar
This watch revisits the in-line perpetual calendar Ref 5236P rolled out in 2021 with a vintage-inspired opaline rose-gilt dial, aptly matched with charcoal grey white gold hands and applied hour-markers. The dial is complemented by a shiny chocolate-brown alligator strap with platinum fold-over clasp.
Like the original, the 41.3 mm timepiece is encased in platinum and shows the day, date and month through a large single 12 o’clock aperture. The leap-year cycle and daylight are each indicated by a small round opening, with a moon-phase display in between. The watch is powered by an in-house ultra-thin self-winding movement fitted with an additional module with three patents.
Price: S$204,800
Twenty-4 Ref 4910/1201R
First launched in 1999, this cuff-style watch identified by a highly refined dial is the first women’s watch in Patek Philippe’s collection, the Twenty-4. To celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2024, a new purple dial was made specially for the occasion.
To produce the new dial, its plate is first embossed with concentric wave patterns before dozens of layers of translucent purple lacquer are applied, followed by transparent lacquer which, once polished, allows subtle plays on light to create a beautiful depth effect.
The original shape of the rectangular two-tier case is highlighted by two rows of 17 brilliant diamonds (0.63 ct), set on either side of the dial. The new Twenty-4 comes in full rose gold, including the bracelet, and is powered by a quartz movement.
