IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT a Rolex is everyone’s dream watch, so it’s just as well that the brand has a wide collection to suit many different tastes. For ladies, the offerings come in precious metals, sparkling with diamonds. For men, a handsome timepiece in platinum, a sophisticated complication and an updated classic. If you’re planning to make someone’s Christmas dream come true, you need look no further.

    FOR HER:

    Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36

A pink opal dial is made all the more striking, thanks to the 32 diamonds set on the 18 ct gold hour markers with Roman VI and IX numerals – all framed in a 36 mm, 18 ct white gold case paired with the prestigious President bracelet in the same precious metal. The Day-Date is Rolex’s “ultimate prestige watch”. When it was launched in 1956, the Day-Date was the first watch to indicate the day of the week spelt out in full in 26 languages.  Price: POA

Nothing personifies the classic Rolex watch like the Datejust, with its enduring design details that have been around since 1945, making it one of the most recognisable timepieces around. This two-tone watch of Everose gold and Oystersteel features a 36 mm Oyster case decorated with a fluted bezel, cutting an elegant profile accentuated by the light reflections on the case sides and lugs. The case, integrated with an Everose gold and Oystersteel Jubilee bracelet, displays a silver dial decorated with a palm motif. The Datejust is the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to show the date in the 3 o’clock window on the dial, hence its name. Price: S$16,990

Rolex’s classic feminine watch in Oystersteel and yellow gold features a dainty 28 mm Oyster case with a bezel decked in diamonds, embracing a white mother-of-pearl dial. The watch, available in a five-piece-link Jubilee bracelet, is from the Datejust collection which is known for style and precise timekeeping. Price: S$24,800

    FOR HIM:

    Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller

This is perfect for the frequent traveller on your list. Defined by its second time zone display on an off-centre disc on the intense white dial, the 42 mm two-tone Oystersteel and yellow gold Sky-Dweller is a dual time-zone watch that tells both home and local time simultaneously, at a glance. The disc’s 24-hour display also allows travellers to clearly distinguish day from night in the distant time zone. The functions are easy to set, thanks to an innovative system unique to Rolex that uses the rotatable ring command bezel. The date is shown through the magnified Cyclop lens on the dial at 3 o’clock, while the hour markers do double duty to also indicate the month of the year. The watch comes with a Jubilee bracelet.  Price: S$25,990

    Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40

The Day-Date models make up Rolex’s most prestigious collection, crafted only in precious metals. The Day-Date 40 is made of  950 (high grade) platinum, the noblest of all metals. The 40 mm watch, powered by a state-of-the-art automatic Rolex movement, wears the ice-blue dial exclusive only to Rolex’s platinum timepieces. Still another unique feature of the watch is its platinum fluted bezel – a first for the brand and added prestige for the model. Until now, the fluted bezel has been crafted only in 18 ct gold. Then there’s the three-link President bracelet which was created specially for the launch of the Day-Date 66 years ago. It is still exclusive to Day-Date models and certain versions of the Datejust collection. Price: POA

    Oyster Perpetual Air-King

A watch which pays tribute to pilots of the 1930s golden age of flying, the Air-King has a new dial with a combination of 3, 6 and 9 numerals marking the hours, set against a distinctive black background. Maximum legibility in the dark is guaranteed, thanks to an optimised Chromalight display. The totally redesigned 40 mm Oystersteel case includes a crown guard and straight sides, in line with most of Rolex’s Professional watches. The integrated Oyster bracelet is fitted with an Oysterlock safety clasp – a first for the model – which was rolled out in 1958. Price: S$10,140
