Watchmen Remixed

Zack Snyder's big screen adaption of Watchmen polarised fans with its lengthy running time and complicated plot. That hasn't stopped Damon Lindelof (Lost, The Leftovers) from picking up the pieces and giving it another go with a limited series for HBO.

This nine-episode small screen version is not a remake or reboot but rather a remix as it tells an entirely new story from the dark graphic novel. It's set in an alternate reality in 2019 - where Robert Redford is the longest-serving president of the United States and masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws because of their violent methods of upholding the law.

The pilot episode, which premiered earlier this week, is written by Lindelof; and the ensemble cast features Redford, Regina King, Don Johnson, Louis Gossett Jr and Jeremy Irons.
