Frequent travellers who like comforting scents in their hotel rooms should pack Muji's new portable aroma diffuser in their suitcase. The cordless, palm-sized device disperses scent whenever it's needed - just apply three to five drops of essential oil on the felt pad, and the scent can last four hours.

No water is needed and because the scent is dispersed only within a 50cm radius, you can use it on the plane without disturbing other passengers. It's great in a less than fragrant Grab car, musty hotel room or even in a crowded MRT train after work. Fellow commuters may even thank you for it. The diffuser uses a USB connection for charging, and turns off automatically after two hours of continuous use. Priced at S$59, each set comes with a storage pouch, holder with felt pad and USB cable. Essential oils are sold separately.
