Red Hot Detox
Get your body ready for 2020 with two new infrared light treatments.
PURE WELLNESS STUDIO
Save for the current rainy season, 'hot and humid' describes Singapore's weather. Head outdoors for an hour, and you'll come back wet - with perspiration. Yet, oddly enough, Singapore isn't short of saunas. Just about every spa has one. But lately, infrared saunas have been gaining attention, with Pure Wellness Studio being one of the first dedicated infrared sauna studios in Singapore. In conventional saunas, the enclosed area is heated to anywhere from 70 to 90 degrees Celsius. But in infrared saunas, the heat comes from within your own body as a spectrum of infrared light literally heats you up from the inside.
There are three types of infrared wavelengths - near, mid and far. Near-infrared wavelengths penetrate the skin and are said to help with skin rejuvenation. Mid-infrared wavelengths penetrate deeper into the body, and supposedly help with circulation and muscle recovery. Lastly, the far-infrared wavelengths penetrate the body at the cellular level, where toxins reside. Such waves claim to help with detoxification, weight loss and relaxation.
