Australian skincare brand Aesop has launched its first product for the home. Designed for Aesop by Studio Henry Wilson, the Brass Oil Burner is crafted from solid brass in Australia using a lost wax-casting process - an ancient technique utilising wax moulds to cast metal objects - to ensure each vessel has its own character and brass patina, which will evolve over time. The burner weighs one kilogram, with an intentionally uneven brass design that is both pleasing and practical. Dr Kate Forbes, Aesop's general manager for product and research and development, says: "The Brass Oil Burner represents an interesting new product direction as it combines our passions of design, function and scent into one product." What's a burner without scented oil? Aesop is also launching a new oil burner blend, Beatrice, with a woody, citrus scent and notes of patchouli and cedar atlas.
