We're happy - despite the pandemic
ARE Singaporeans happy? Despite daily news about the toll that the pandemic is taking on everyday life, a recent survey indicates that some of us are actually happier than expected. Conducted by TEDxSingapore which also carried out a survey on happiness in 2019, that same poll done this month showed a surprisingly similar level of contentment for 2020 as well.
What gives? Of course, there are caveats galore given the small sample size and the white collar/mid-upper class respondents. But what's different is a change in the criteria for happiness - from material pursuits to the more philosophical such as "meaning", "purpose" and "gratitude". Tomorrow's BTLifestyle finds out more.
For those seeking some tender loving care, we offer some alternative ways to get your body and mind back on track, from head reflexology to ayurvedic yoga. And if you're looking to build yourself a sanctuary at home, get some ideas from this week's featured home - an oasis of calm in a 1,300 sq ft apartment.
