DAD'S SUSHI TREAT
For the Japanese food-loving Dad in your life, check out kappo chef Taro Takayama's special Father's Day set available only on June 21 for takeaway or home delivery. Taking away the hassle of decision-making, the Mixed Seafood Bara Chirashi is a medley of different kinds of sashimi from uni to bonito, layered on top of sushi rice priced at S$174.20 which is enough for two people, with two complimentary bottles of beer. If he isn't a raw fish fan, Roasted Beef Chirashi will do the trick. June 19 is the last day for preorders but even if you miss it, there's lots to pick from Takayama's regular menu which includes the chef's signature omakase bento (two days advance notice), steamed abalone, selection of donburi with grilled unagi, ikura or sukiyaki, and assorted bentos. ~ Jaime Ee
