When womanisers fall truly, madly, deeply in love
THERE was a time when actresses took centre stage in romantic comedies - think Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, Sandra Bullock, Drew Barrymore, Katherine Heigl, Kate Hudson, and so on. It makes commercial sense, since the rom-com audience is largely women.
But this Valentine season, the men - never one to enjoy being trounced by women in any field - are trying to muscle in on the market. And so, you get That Awkward Moment, Winter's Tale and A Case of You, romance movies told from the male perspective but still clearly intended for women audiences.
In That Awkward Moment, its central characters are Jason (Zac Efron), Daniel (Miles Teller) and Mikey (Michael B Jordan) - three young men in New York who have decided to stay single and play the field till they hit 30.
