Where the beats, bites and cocktails are given equal weight

UPSCALE but not formal, serious about quality without being stuffy. That's the vibe at Beats Bites & Cocktails on Bukit Pasoh Road, where each aspect of the triple-barrelled name is given equal weight: the music, the kitchen, and the bar.

Having previously run cocktail bar and consultancy Bottle Boot & Cigar in Beijing, co-founders Caroline Tan and Douglas Williams wanted to keep the acronym for their Singapore spot.

The space bears out the combined concept, with the concrete bar segueing into resident DJ Shigeki Ito's station. Or as Mr Williams puts it: "It's kind of one long workspace."
