IF ever a zombie apocalypse were to descend upon Singapore, a good portion of our population would have a fighting chance at survival; thanks to the training received from zombie themed races Run For Your Lives and Race the Dead. The two races are part of a glut of non-competitive themed runs that have gripped Singapore over the past year.

There were at least six such runs last year and the number is expected to rise with many organisers bringing their races back for a second year and new ones such as the Electric Run, Foam Run and the Heroes Run joining the circuit in coming months.

The runs are highly popular, drawing up to 10,000 participants each time, with several selling out within days and even hours of their launch. But the organisers of these races themselves aren't racing to the banks even with the overwhelming public response.
