Allies welcome America back, but have reservations
The US is back on the world stage and at the fore, but some countries are not fully committed to the Biden plan to 'Build Back Better World'.
A HUGE sigh of relief was heard in many parts of the world when Joe Biden was elected as US president, which is another way of saying that America's global allies were pleased to see President Donald Trump exit the White House.
Indeed, recent opinion polls suggest major changes in attitudes in 12 countries in the aftermath of President Biden's election, with 62 per cent of those surveyed now having favourable impressions of the US compared to 34 per cent under President Trump.
Seventy-five per cent of the respondents say they had confidence in President Biden doing "the right thing in world affairs" and believed that he was qualified to be president. Only 17 per cent expressed those sentiments at the end of the Trump presidency and thought that the then president was qualified to lead the world's remaining superpower.
