Big Data collection comes with a slew of problems

LET'S look at the numbers for hacks in the past decade:

Another day, another hack, affecting millions. The facts are astounding, and the numbers even more staggering. The latest breach at Facebook saw at least 50 million user log-in codes stolen. From the figures above, we can see that the age-old issues associated with Big Data collection comes with a slew of problems related to privacy intrusion.

According to Identity Theft Resource Centre's (ITRC) 2017 Data Breach Industry Summary report, the number of records compromised in the first six months of 2018 have already surpassed the total number of breached records for all of 2017. This is a troubling trend, and looks set to get worse.
