Bombast makes better sound bites in wake of Orlando mass shooting

SO here is the kind of reaction one expects from people, Americans and non-Americans, who have been following the images of the horrific carnage from the site of a gay bar in Orlando, Florida, where a gunman opened fire early Sunday, leaving 49 dead and more than 53 injured: "Oh, the Horror!"
Someone with basic emotions would not be inquiring about the ethnic, racial or religious identity or sexual orientation of the victims lying on the floor of the Pulse nightclub with gunshot wounds to their chests, legs and arms, and with calves and arms blown-off.
