Brexit: some progress but still no agreement on major issues

THE UK and the EU agree!

OK, this was only about condemnation of President Putin's Russia for the attack on a Russian double agent and his daughter with a banned nerve agent. However, it did have the effect of getting all parties to agree with each other for once, and without weeks of negotiations.

Several days ago, the Brexit negotiators announced agreement on a deal for the transition period before the UK says goodbye to the EU. The UK will formally leave at the end of 2020 and there is now a deadline, which all good accountants need.
