UNITED Continental Airlines Inc appointed an interim CEO four days after CEO Oscar Munoz suffered a heart attack.

On Oct 15, a Thursday, Mr Munoz was hospitalised but the company did not disclose his hospitalisation until The Wall Street Journal reported it the day after. The company did not confirm widespread reports of a heart attack until the following Monday.

The time lag of United's statements on Mr Munoz's condition raised questions that the company did not disclose information fast enough.
