China's push for green financing will be felt globally
There's no turning back the forces gathered behind doing business sustainably.
ENSURING that the benefits of economic development are shared by all has long been a focus for Chinese leaders. During the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in the past week, it became increasingly clear that this focus on sustainable, inclusive development would have wide-ranging implications for the rest of the world.
It means that businesses - not only those in the Asia-Pacific but globally - need to start paying attention and positioning themselves to take advantage of the opportunities - and to understand the challenges - that this will create.
From an Asia-Pacific standpoint, there is no longer any time to debate whether sustainable finance makes sense. We must move to the "how".
