AFTER Super Tuesday - where US presidential candidates try to secure nominations from delegates from a large number of states - the race for the White House this November has become clearer. The results have also coincided with a rally in financial markets from oversold conditions.

Hillary Clinton, the establishment Democratic candidate, has all but sewn up her nomination against an energetic campaign led by Vermont senator Bernie Sanders that has charmed liberal white youth. Real estate tycoon Donald Trump, an outsider within a more bitterly divided Republican Party, is also another clear winner so far. The Republican establishment candidate, Marco Rubio, is left trailing in the dust.

In a Clinton-versus-Trump matchup, Mrs Clinton so far has a 3-4 percentage point lead, based on poll aggregator and political analysis site RealClearPolitics.
