Connected, optimised infrastructure will help electric vehicles take off here
THE arrival of electric vehicles (EV) is a disruptive influence on urban mobility, and presents an opportunity to transform how we live, work and play. The emerging EV revolution could improve the quality of life in Singapore - if we get it right.
Amid increasing global urgency to contain the effects of climate change, cities are under pressure to reduce carbon emissions. One way this can be done is by having EVs in city centres. The challenge, however, is to deliver the right resources in the right places for the transition to be successful.
EVs need to recharge their batteries in convenient locations, at different times and at an acceptable price point. We need to make it easy for people to use them.
