    Minutes from the March meeting of the United States Federal Reserve's policymaking body revealed this week that the central bank might start this year to unwind the last remnants of its quantitative easing policies. That could mean shrinking a massive US$4.5 trillion balance sheet that was built up in the wake of the 2008 collapse of Lehman Brothers as a way to hold down interest rates and stimulate demand.
