Covid vaccines - delivering booster shots at expense of rest of the world

AS some countries - including Singapore - consider rolling out Covid-19 vaccine booster shots, others are racing to even vaccinate a significant proportion of their population.

It is perhaps natural for self-preservation to skew towards selfishness. Yet vaccine equity is not just about international solidarity or humanitarian concerns. Even the most hard-hearted survivalists need to realise that "No one is safe until everyone is safe" is not a platitude, but a warning about current and future pandemics.

The push for booster shots has been prompted by data suggesting that the protection conferred by vaccination wanes over time.
