Hands down it's got to be the bombshell the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) threw into the US presidential election in its home stretch. Ok, the Nov 8 election isn't supposed to be the "event of the week" until next week. And technically this particular "remarkable" happened a week ago - last Friday in America (Saturday in Singapore). The otherwise quiet week did pick up pace in the last couple of days: Political turmoil in Seoul; the UK court ruling on Thursday that has thrown a wrench in the British government's Brexit timeline; and the landmark Paris global climate treaty came into effect on Friday. But FBI director James Comey's sudden announcement, 11 days before the election, about reopening a probe into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server has reverberated all week, in more ways than one.
