'Deal of the Century'? Maybe the next century
The Trump team's Middle East peace plan has run up against road blocks on both sides of the Arab-Israeli divide. The plan itself is so far thin on details as well.
ISRAELI Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, meeting in Jerusalem last Thursday with Jared Kushner, US president Donald Trump's son-in-law and the architect of the White House Middle East peace plan, tried to make light of the major political setback he had suffered on Wednesday.
"You know, we had a little event last night," he told Mr Kushner and Jason Greenblatt, another White House aide promoting the plan for reaching a deal between the Israelis and the Palestinians - the one President Trump has hailed as the "Deal of the Century".
Mr Netanyahu, sometimes referred to as Bibi, said of his political setback: "That is not going to stop us. We're going to continue working together."
