Ditch passive compliance for a positive cyber security culture

FACED with a rolling wave of technology disruptions, organisations across all sectors are digitalising their business processes and hardening their core IT assets against cyber threats lurking in a hyper-connected operating environment. Issues like application software security, data encryption and recovery, vulnerability assessment and penetration testing of critical networks are increasingly common topics for boardroom discussions in Singapore.

Cyber security is fast becoming a top-ranking enterprise risk requiring proactive monitoring and management to minimise the probability of serious cyber security incidents such as data exfiltration and ransomware infections. And when these do occur, the focus is on limiting or mitigating their impact on affected businesses and customers.

As we pass the first anniversary of Singapore's Cyber Security Act, it is timely to consider how this landmark Act has helped to accelerate the adoption of good cyber security mindsets and best practices.
