Getting into gear for employee engagement

EVERYONE knows it is easier to drive an automatic than a manual, but as any passionate petrolhead will tell you, being able to shift through the gears depending on the driving conditions increases responsiveness and improves performance.
And it is exactly the same thing when a company has an excellent employment engagement strategy - a bit of smart handling and knowing when to shift down as well as up, can lead to a great organisational experience and an incredible journey.
From my experience, there are four fundamental gears that are crucial to excellent engagement. Omitting any one of them will result in a bumpy ride.
