Gojek-Deliveroo tie-up presents chance to dislodge Grab

THE enemy of my enemy is my friend, as the saying goes. And Gojek and Deliveroo appear to take that to heart with their new partnership in Singapore.

Common rival Grab has taken a dominant position in ride hailing and food delivery services here. In what could be seen as an attempt to dislodge the incumbent, Gojek and Deliveroo have joined hands to offer discounts to customers and work on initiatives for its drivers and riders.

But the move could also lead to a potential acquisition opportunity for Gojek to finally build out its services here.
