Firms have to fight gender stereotypes, but gains stand to be made in the bottom line and innovation.

    THE long-standing debate on gender inequality across multiple industries has become more urgent of late.

    Issues such as unequal compensation for doing the same job as men, and under-representation in the majority of organisations at the management and board levels, have attracted an increasing level of media and public attention. The result is that we are seeing a gradual shift towards recognition that, not only should women be paid the same as men for doing the same job, but that full participation by women at every level of an enterprise adds substantial value to the mission.
