If Brexit happens, how about a Britain-C'wealth merger?

DREAM or nightmare, Brexit clearly could happen, and it is to be hoped that Prime Minister David Cameron's government is spending as much time thinking about bold alternatives to Britain's membership of the European Union as on trying desperately to prevent the breakup happening.

There are alternatives, but for sure, these have nothing to do with isolationism or go-it-alone strategies. Britain no longer has an empire or colonies, but it does have a Commonwealth, headed by the Queen; a new economic "merger" between the UK and the Commonwealth could have synergies.
