Living life on the Edge - what Edge Computing means for businesses
HOW do businesses become faster, better, stronger? The answer may lie in Edge Computing, which is increasingly accepted by businesses as a necessity to develop a competitive advantage.
Named as one of Gartner's 10 strategic technology trends for 2018, Edge Computing is a reaction to consumer and business demands for reduced latency (leading to faster speeds), and the rise in applications that require real-time critical processing of data.
In other words, if data is processed closer to the source or endpoint (ie the "Edge"), real-time insights can then be generated closer to the end user.
