Lower fund expenses a trend in US, Europe

FUND investors in Europe and the US are benefiting from lower fund average expense ratios, studies by Morningstar have found. It has yet to do a similar study for funds in Asia.

The studies cover active and passive funds, and include commission-free or "clean-fee'' share classes. In Singapore, numerous fund firms have registered clean-fee share classes where the annual management fee - and hence, the total expense ratio - is significantly lower than the retail share class.
