THE Western Pacific island of Guam is reputed to be "infested with snakes", a charge that the US territory's Lieutenant-Governor Raymond Tenorio strenuously denies. But tourists who have lately been having second thoughts about visiting Guam have bigger concerns on their mind than being bitten by a snake.

They are afraid of being hit by one of North Korea's nuclear warhead-tipped missiles allegedly aimed at US military bases on Guam. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has threatened to fire a bunch of missiles into the azure blue sea close to the "island paradise" as a warning shot.
