No more hard copies of annual report? Stacks at AGM

I REFER to the article "RIP: Annual reports on CD-ROM" (BT, April 24) and trust SGX companies will not interpret the listing rules to allow for the abolition of printed versions of the annual report (AR) and expect interested shareholders to view ARs running into hundreds of pages on a website.

My personal experience prompts me to write this letter.

Recently, when I received the announcement advice of the AGM and the proxy form but not the usual slip for requesting a printed copy of the AR, I wrote to ask the company secretary the reason and the reply was that the company did not produce print and CD-ROM versions of the AR because of environmental sustainability.
