Rail issue: do what MOH did, bring foreign expertise to bear
WEDNESDAY Oct 28 was an eventful day for the MRT but it could have been a disastrous one as well. There were two separate breakdowns on different lines with many commuters inconvenienced: free bus services notwithstanding. As usual, there were no clear signs as to which buses were headed where. It was a "circus" as press interviews with stranded commuters suggest.
But fortunately, it was not a disastrous day, too.
A small truck overturned, ending up leaning sideways against a supporting pillar of the Tanah Merah MRT. What would the result have been if instead it was a huge lorry-mounted crane?
