Response to SMF clarification on council election, transaction reporting

I REFER to the Mar 15 letter "Clarification on recent BT reports on the SMF" from Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) acting president Ryan Chioh.

The letter raises 2 main issues: the 2021 SMF council election, and an alleged failure to report related-party transactions in 2018.

Regarding the election, the SMF secretariat staff include a former and a current independent director of Sakae Holdings. In any election, there are 2 parts: vote counting, conducted under recording; and the pre-election period.
