Saying sorry without admitting fault

HK becomes first Asian jurisdiction to pass law under which an apology will largely not be admissible as evidence to determine liability in non-criminal proceedings

    "SORRY" may no longer be the hardest word in Hong Kong now that legislators have passed a new law that will allow people to apologise without actually admitting fault or legal liability.

    In layman's terms, this could be translated as being able to say you're sorry without actually meaning you're sorry in the conventional sense, namely showing remorse or acknowledging some extent of responsibility in a conflict.
