Sea change needed to enable and sustain Asia's food security
WHEN it comes to doing business these days, be it in Singapore or elsewhere, the buzzword is sustainability.
And as Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat said in a speech last week, sustainability is not just about protecting our planet for the future, but it also makes good business sense to pursue it.
There is already a growing demand for sustainable products and services from consumers, including from a more educated and younger generation that increasingly appreciates and understands the importance of sustainability. This presents vast opportunities for companies to think hard about the sorts of investments and decisions they should make in this space, in order to reap the most benefits from this demand.
