SOMETIMES, life is stranger than fiction, as the saying goes. And when it comes to Washington these days, political life sounds and looks more and more like a genre-bending kind of fiction. Think John le Carre meet Stephen King, plus a touch of Fifty Shades of Grey.
Barack Obama is still occupying the White House and we are supposedly still in the so-called "presidential transition" period. But to judge by the way he has taken hold of the political and policy agenda in Washington and has dominated the news cycle in the last few days, it seems that Donald J Trump has already moved to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and was conducting political business from the Oval Office and not from the Trump Tower in Manhattan.
