Trump-media brawl - old story, new twists

Washington
"THE press is your enemy," the American president told the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. "Enemies. Understand that? Because they're trying to stick the knife right in our groin."
His vice-president joined in the attacks on American journalists, describing television news broadcasters as biased "unelected elite" and blasting reporters as "pusillanimous pussyfooters", "vicars of vacillation", and "the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history". That last one must have really hurt.
