UK government is pinning its post-Brexit hopes on 'Global Britain'

BORIS Johnson launched last week a long-awaited integrated international relations strategy following what he claims was the deepest review of the United Kingdom's foreign posture since the end of the Cold War.

This was followed up on Monday with a more detailed defence command paper outlining the UK's forward military posture.

The new strategy seeks to answer one of the fundamental questions unresolved since the 2016 Brexit referendum. That is, what kind of country does the UK want to be as it moves on from its EU membership.
