We should get our priorities right as shareholders

Published Thu, Apr 23, 2020 · 09:50 PM

I refer to the letter by Mano Sabnani ("Will SGX look into problems of virtual AGMs and bunching?") published in The Business Times on April 17, 2020.

It is naïve on the writer's part to allude that the reason most annual general meetings tend to bunch together is a conspiracy on the part of companies to avoid facing shareholders altogether.

His letter fails to appreciate the activities that preoccupy the management in the four months leading to the AGM.
