SINGAPORE'S zero tolerance for corruption is widely acknowledged, but may seem incomprehensible at times.

For example, the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) hauled up more than 20 workers from private funeral businesses and crematorium workers who had accepted red packets from bereaved families - never mind that this industry practice has been going on quietly for decades.

Netizens derided the move as a waste of the CPIB's time and resources.
