Consider paying CEOs less and taxing them more

BEING a chief executive officer of a large listed group can be a tough job. One has to please various stakeholders, who may have conflicting objectives.
A CEO has to manage many people in different markets. Business is being disrupted by technological advances. There are many pressing problems to deal with, such as regulatory challenges, geopolitical uncertainties, rising interest rates, inflation, cybersecurity threats and changing consumer behaviour.
One needs vision, stamina, people skills, mental toughness and luck to survive as a CEO. With long hours spent on work, family life of corporate leaders suffers.
