AS A long-time SAP executive and head of its cloud business, Robert Enslin was tipped by some to become the next CEO of the German software giant. But in April this year, Mr Enslin surprised the industry by switching over to Google, ready to embark on a fresh challenge.
Meeting up with The Business Times at Google's Pasir Panjang office in June, Mr Enslin professes excitement about being "six weeks and two days" into the job as Google Cloud's president of global customer operations.
With an easy smile and affable manner, he also muses on the delights of being the office newbie again - or a "Noogler", in Google-speak. "First time in 27 years that I've actually gone for orientation, so that was quite amazing," he quips with a laugh.
