What might it mean for the PAP to affirm the younger generation’s desire for change?

PM Wong says that he, like younger voters, sees ‘many things that should be improved’. GE 2025 will be an early test of how well these views align.

[SINGAPORE] Often the target of grouses about their perceived weakness or sense of entitlement, younger Singaporeans received a bold defence on Sunday (Apr 13) – from Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, in a two-minute video posted to social media.

With the general election (GE) around the corner, PM Wong was clearly speaking in his capacity as leader of the ruling People’s Action Party (PAP), in party whites and with PAP hashtags.

After a screenful of negative comments about Generation Z, the video cuts to PM Wong addressing the camera – and that generation – directly.
