AI for the new decade in Singapore
Singapore needs to encourage innovation and collaboration to stay technologically competitive.
AT THE recent World Economic Forum 2020, Singapore unveiled a trio of artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives aimed at elevating consumer trust and governance of the technology. These included an Implementation and Self-Assessment Guide for Organisations (ISAGO), a handbook of real-world use cases, as well as an update of its Model AI Governance Framework - all of which are intended to work in tandem with one another.
As AI extends its galvanising and pervasive reach from global enterprises to the everyday consumer, Singapore is increasingly cognisant of the need to bridge concerns over the technology's presence and use among communities. There is no stopping AI's rapid advancement into our workplaces, homes and everyday lives, and in the year ahead, we expect to see increased demands for human-machine interaction.
However, the question today is no longer about how humans are using the technology, but how AI-equipped devices are interacting with humans, as those devices become more "intellectual".
