Banking on people to grow Singapore's financial sector
1. What do you think was a significant thing that happened this week?
Singapore has rolled out its strategic plans for the key financial sector. Over the medium term, the sector aims to create 3,000 net jobs in financial services every year, and 1,000 net jobs in the fintech sector annually. Financial services' GDP is also expected to grow 4.3 per cent per annum on a real value-added basis over the medium term, nearly twice as fast as the overall economy. Over half of the growth will be driven by productivity.
