Brexit is not a problem for the UK but the EU

THE current mantra in British politics is "Brexit means Brexit". The only problem is that nobody has defined the word "Brexit", which was coined as part of the referendum just a few months ago. As somebody who voted in favour of the UK leaving the EU, I would offer my own definition. "Brexit" means that the UK leaves the EU, once and for all, and becomes a fully independent nation - dealing with the rest of the world, including the EU, on its own terms.

Unfortunately, leaving the EU requires the intervention of politicians - a majority of whom were not in favour of leaving. Thus, the rhetoric around Brexit is clouded. Remember that the UK has not yet invoked Article 50 - this is merely posturing for the public or rather, the media.

The chief cause of political concern is the ability to trade in the free market after leaving the EU. As a member of the EU, trade with all other EU nations is free from hindrance (apart from following all the rules on developing and preparing the goods and services for market). The big hindrance is that this requires the free movement of labour within all EU countries.
