THE debate over the opportunities and challenges posed by technology, and in particular Artificial Intelligence (AI), has become increasingly shrill in the last few years.
While dire warnings about these "weapons of maths destruction" have come from no lesser technological heroes like Elon Musk and Jack Ma, proponents of AI point to ways in which this latest wave of technological innovation will improve the lot of mankind.
Both camps have their valid points.
