Five mantras for building digital leaders
It's not enough to implement technology across business operations. Digital leaders must balance innovation with data and tech, and get their workers future-ready.
DESPITE jumping fast on board the digital train to keep up with the new-world dynamics, most businesses today find themselves in a quandary as they pause, look back and realise they haven't really gained much out of their digital transformation journey thus far.
The biggest stumbling blocks: Limited understanding of what it really means to go digital and the lack of a roadmap strategically designed to pave the way to digital success. What is most worrying however, is the paucity of digital leadership. Aside from the skills gap, we believe, it is this digital leadership deficit that will hurt Singapore businesses the most in the near future.
What is digital leadership? It is all about fine balancing innovation, human insights and new technologies while preparing a future-ready workforce. It is about capitalising on data value to create unique people experiences. It simply refers to new ways of solving problems, creating unique customer and employee experiences and boosting businesses beyond financial performance. In doing all of this, digital leaders are able to tactfully toss disruptions into the transformation and scale new heights as they lead the digital revolution.
